Towards Enlightenment Through Education
When Eleonora came to the UK at the age of 13 she did not speak much English. After enrolling at a local school, in which she was the only international pupil, she set about devouring everything from Thomas Hardy to Sherlock Holmes novels, quickly improving her English and subsequently passing all of her state exams. Eleonora became only the second Ukrainian to read for an undergraduate degree at Oxford University, and went on to co-found the Oxford University Ukrainian Society. The experience of relocation and education in a new and unfamiliar environment brought with it many challenges, but every challenge came with a lesson.
Now Eleonora seeks to share those lessons with fellow international students and to effect the kind of change that she believes is needed within the education system. Crucially, Eleonora knows what works, and what doesn’t, and through Suhoviy, she has been able to pass these lessons on to children, and parents, who are trying to navigate a system which, at times, can feel like it’s working against them.

In 2006, Eleonora was appointed as the head of a global educational consultancy where she led a team of experts specialising in a wide range of educational services. Her team focused on everything from entry requirements for top rated private schools, to admissions processes for the UK’s most distinguished universities. During her time with the company Eleonora’s role also required that she deliver regular lectures, workshops and training seminars at schools all over the world.
