The colossal dedication of Ukrainians succeeded in defending Ukraine against Russian invasion and in uniting many nations in unwavering support of its sovereignty. As co-founder of Oxford University Ukrainian Society, Eleonora joined the committee in organising rallies, aid collections and fundraising dinners, participated in poetry recitals at concerts and attended receptions with Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and David Cameron. These initiatives, in collaboration with Oxford's academic and local community, raised over £25,000 in monetary donations and dispatched over 200 boxes of essential supplies to Ukraine.
This summer, 18 Ukrainian children aged between 12 and 17 will spend two weeks at popular summer schools, learning English, sciences, arts and humanities, discovering English boarding schools and universities, and making new friendships. All of them will be on full or partial scholarships totalling nearly £50,000, generously offered by Oxford Royale Summer Academy and Summer Boarding Courses.
Next, Eleonora hopes to find scholarships at British boarding schools to help with fees for those pupils who are unable to resume their schooling in Ukraine from September.
Eleonora is providing guidance on graduate applications and scholarships at Oxford University for outstanding applicants from Ukraine. Prospective candidates should email Eleonora with their transcripts and English language certificate.
